Nathan Hatton


We are very greatful to have Nathan Hatton, teach our BJJ Fundamentals program. He has been involved with various grappling arts for over 20 years and currently holds a brown belt in BJJ with Leading Edge BJJ.

In addition to his coaching, he is also one of the world’s leading historians on the sport of wrestling in which has attained a Phd. Dr. Hatton’s main research interests are in the history of combative sports in North America, with a particular focus on their social significance both to participant and spectator. His research endeavours have been recognized both by the Social Sciences and Research Council of Canada as well as Sport Canada. Current research interests include the early history of ‘less reputable’ entertainments and past times in the developing Canadian West.
