- Mr. Moroney has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1993 under the tutelage of his brother Professor Sylvain Moroney. Notable Instructors & Professors that Dan trained with are Royce Gracie, Renzo Gracie, Sylvio Behring ,Mauriciao “Hunter” Periera ,the Machado Brothers, Gene Lebell and Gokor Chivichyan.
- Promoted to Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in July 2001 by Mauriciao “Hunter” Periera. He is considered the 1st official Canadian Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
- Received his 3rd Degree Black Belt Master Royler Gracie on May 3rd 2011
- Mr. Moroney is one of 11 black belts from Gracie Humaita in Canada.
- Has won numerous grappling tournaments in the Ontario & Quebec regions. His tournament credits are: 4 time CJA grappling champion,WKF national & WKF Grappling World Champion. Won the 1997 Canadian Open Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
